Problem with Logical View Data Model Diagram

In a class diagram, I am trying to use the 'foreign keys' option.  Some foreign keys are created okay.

On other, frequent occasions, when I create a foreign key, I get the following error message:

"DAO.Recordset [3315]

Field't_operationparam.Type' can't be a zero-length string".

The foreign keys are not being created in some circumstances.  In others, they are being created and appear in the 'Properties' window but do not appear in the 'Project Browser' nor when I generate documentation for the tables I am creating.  

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be as I'm stuck?
