Empty Objects?
« on: March 17, 2005, 01:10:16 pm »
I've reverse-engineered a large VB6 project into a class diagram.   Instead of trying to format all of the freshly imported classes/forms/etc... on to one gigantic presentation, I prefer to organize classes into similar groups (Ie security would be one group and claims would be another group).

So, I created a new class diagram (for the group of claim classes) and started dragging claim classes from the project view and voila ... new empty object boxes?

How do I place classes (complete with attributes and methods) on a different class diagram?

Thanks.

Just an idea.

Do you have 'Hide Attributes' and 'Hide Operations' checked on the diagram you have created.  (Right click on the diagram and select 'Diagram Properties'.

Hi Simonm,

"Do you have 'Hide Attributes' and 'Hide Operations' checked on the diagram you have created. "

Both are unchecked.

Thanks tho

Hi Todd,

You say "empty object boxes" so try holding the Ctrl key while dragging a class onto the diagram and a dialog will appear. Select "as Simple Link" and "Set Selection as Default for All Drag and Drop" then press OK. All classes will now be pasted as classes, not objects.

Hope this helps
