The Crossover product supports technical aspects. I can use IE in Lilnux by emulation..the Crossover only simulates Windows.
In The Microsof components EULA (End-User License Agreement) is written that these comopents only can be used in Microsoft SO products. Following part of the IE license as an example :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT: READ CAREFULLY -
These Microsoft operating system components, including any "online" or electronic documentation ("OS Components") are subject to the terms and conditions of the agreement under which you have licensed the applicable Microsoft operating system product ("OS Product") described below (each an "End User License Agreement" or "EULA") and the terms and conditions of this Supplemental EULA....
NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VALID EULA FOR ANY "OS PRODUCT" (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, MICROSOFT WINDOWS 98, MICROSOFT WINDOWS NT 4.0, MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2000, MICROSOFT MILLENNIUM EDITION, MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP, OR ANY OTHER MICROSOFT OPERATING SYSTEM THAT IS A SUCCESSOR TO ANY OF THE FOREGOING OPERATING SYSTEMS)
YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO INSTALL, COPY, OR OTHERWISE USE THE OS COMPONENTS AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS UNDER THIS SUPPLEMENTAL EULA.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reading this license, I conclude that I only can use Ms Components in Microsoft operating system product. It means that I don't have any technical problems using Crossover product but I can have legal problems. Am I correct ?
I'll appreciate if someone could confirm this situation because the company I work is really interested in using EA Linux version on its development enviroment.
thanks
