Fail to import XMI File into EA
« on: May 03, 2004, 05:16:54 am »
Hi all  :)

I have exported a visio diagram as an XMI file.  With the UML.DTD file placed in the same directory I tried to import the XMI file using the appropriate IMPORT function but received the following error

Error: Code = 0xc00ce00d
source=line :12; char : 80
Error Description =
The element 'Model_Management.Subsystem' is used but not declared in the DTD/Schema

Any ideas? :-[

I shouldnt be creating my own UML.DTD file should I as I am using one passed onto me from a co-worker who got the file from Microsoft (I think)

Thanks for your help in advance ;D

Try the DTD distributed by Sparx. This one contains a section by that name.

Good question though. I have a version on my disk that I called UML_EA.DTD to distinguish from the Rose version I had. I can't recall where this version came from. But anyway, I can send it by mail if you send me your e-mail address.

Hi

I am having the same "subsystem" issue here, and also need help resolving it.

I am trying to export from Visio and import into EA ver. 4.51.

Can anyone help with an updated/changes DTD file?

Regards

Sorry - too long I go. As far as I remeber the problem was not solved by the other DTD :'(
