VSIntegrate add-in doesn't start
« on: August 08, 2007, 12:04:56 am »
Add-in manager shows the status of Visual Studio addin : "Error - Missing" on some workstations.

I tried uninstall-reinstall of EA (7.0-815) and VSIntegrate (3.0). Any suggestions how to debug this issue ?

Thanks in advance.
Hans

Sounds like the add-in did not register itself on installation. This could due to something subtle in the system configurations. Read through the help for hints on how to do this. Searching the forum will also likely help.

I noticed that during installation warnings appear in the eventlog concerning issues with visual studio item- and projecttemplates (.vstemplate files).
They're all relevant to .Net Framework 3.0:
"Unknown element (MaxFrameworkVersion).
Parsing will attempt to recover."

Could this be relevant ?

Hans,

Perhaps this is significant, although I do not know.

My guess is that the product was developed against .Net 2.0, or whatever the VSIP 2005 package uses. Perhaps it is somehow using the most recent version instead of the specific version it needs.

I think you should immediately report this to Sparx as a bug. Use the Report a Bug link below Support at the bottom of the any page.

Please let us know what you hear back from Sparx.
