Silly Question - Frames in EA
« on: April 18, 2005, 02:46:14 pm »
How does one create frames?  Not fragments, but frames - for interaction occurences and the like.  I cannot seem to find a way to make them.  All I see are the "fragments" which are not the same thing.

I know that I can make the "ref" frames in interaction diagrams by dragging and dropping other diagrams onto my diagram, but what about making frames for overview diagrams such as

http://sparxsystems.com.au/UML2_tutorial/UML2_SequenceDiagram.htm

How do I make the "sd Lifelines" frame shown in this example?

Aha!  I answered my own question, it's right click -> insert element at cursor -> diagram frame.  ;D

I was expecting it to be on the toolbar or menu.

Hi,

beat me by a second :-) There is more to it though - you can drag and drop a diagram onto any other diagram, not only an interaction one. But what you see at the link you have provided is something else - see menu Tools > Options, section Diagram. In the right bottom corner look for option Diagram Frames. This drives whether a frame like the one on the images you have linked to will be automatically added to a diagram.

Hope this helps!
Bruno
