Use of double-click is confusing
« on: April 14, 2005, 05:53:48 am »
Sometimes, double-click "opens" the element, sometimes it "opens" the properties of the element.  This seems to vary by element type as well as by context. ???

I can't get used to it...

Double-click "opens the element" (i.e. opens the child diagram underneath, only if you have set the element as composite ("link to diagram" for your benefit   ;D ). Otherwise it opens the properties.

Aha... So what you're saying is that a package dragged off the toolbox is ALWAYS a "composite"!
Whereas one created on the browser ISN'T.  (see related post on toolbox and browser)  ;)

Strange...  There is NO indication anywhere on the package that  it is or isn't a composite.   In particular, if I remove the subordinate diagram then double-click no longer works.

I go back to my original point...

Confusing... ::)

See Local Options/General/Double click on Browser (upper middle frame)

Thanks for that Thomas (going over old posts for reporting to Sparxians).

However, what I was complaining about is the lack of a "Double-click on Diagram" set of options to mirror those you've pointed me to.  That way, one could (if desired) have the diagram and browser behave the same way...
