Windows Authentication
« on: May 20, 2005, 12:05:40 pm »
I have the full version of 5.0 installed connecting to a SQL repository.

I setup a user account with the "accept Windows Authentication checked" for a user with the EA LITE or Read Only version of EA. However, they still get prompted for their login and password. Is this feature disabled in the Read Only version of EA?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

there is a distinction between the database security and the EA security. The Windows integrated authentication is just a SQL server's method of determining who is the database user who is connecting to it. You still need to setup EA usernames and passwords (unless you choose to switch off the security).
The logon window you see is likely the EA one, not the SQL server one. Have a look at the menu Project > Security for details.

Hope this helps!
Bruno
