Import DDL: MS Access works in 4.51 but not in 5.0

What I would like to do:
- register any *.EAP file as an ODBC-source (MS Access) on your machine
- import DDL from this ODBC source

With EA 4.51 this works fine, but not with 5.0. The result is a system error, EA crashes.

(The error seems similar to the DDL import from a MySQL database - in this case EA also crashes - both 4.51 and 5.0)

Works fine for me - ver 766.  Check your MDAC version and the corresponding use of MDAC by EA.  There have been other posts of this inkling, I beleve they were tied in with say trying to use a JET 3.5 .eap on a machine with "Jet 4.0" MDAC.  IOW, the ODBC drivers are expecting a Jet 4 access image and the EA image uis 3.5

I have a standard XP machine - and I did not changed the system regarding MS Access or ODBC drivers. What I changed is the EA version.  So the problem seems to be a change in EA from 4.5 to 5.0 ?!

May be this screen shot gives more information:

What ever the problem is - a more meaningful error message would be nice.

I quite agree.  I will forward an email to Bill forthwith.  (Its a windows message  :)  )

Although it's a windows message, it is due to an uncaught error in EA. Probably you should forward this to Sparx support?
