Hot Tip - Straight Lines
« on: September 09, 2005, 03:16:58 am »
I like to have my associations horizontal or vertical in diagrams where possible.  Dragging the end of the association is a bit of a pain - I always end up dragging an end adornment, or the other end moves too.

If your classes are aligned at the top edges, simply drag the association to the top end and it will become horizontal when it hits the top.  Then just drag it to the spot you want.  Ta dah!  Similarly for verticals too.

Just thought I'd share that!

I usually just hit CTRL+SHIFT+A after selecting a line to make it auto-routed.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make this the default behavior?

Hi,

Tools -> Options

From the navigator on the left, choose 'Objects'

On the top right, next to 'Connector Style' choose Routed.

HTH,

Great stuff - never new that existed before.  There's me cussing away for the last two years with the line routing!  Thanks chaps!
