Rolling your own profile
« on: October 04, 2005, 03:20:44 am »
Hi,

I am trying to make a new stereotype and maintain that in a profile instead of the global 'stereotype space' of EA. Nothing fancy, it is a stereotype on an association and what I would want to express is that the stereotype is available on associations from a component to a class or package.
Some questions:
Is there a way to express his in the profile diagram?
Is there a way to express this in EA's .xml format?
Is there an xml schema for that format?
In general, when profiles grow, are they best maintained as profile packages in EA or as .xml text?

TIA, Jan

You can create that by <<extend>>ing an Association metaclass by any stereotype. Note that you can color them by setting the border color of the stereotype. I simply maintain my profile in a small EA repository.
