Documenting the same element in different packages

How can I document the same element as part of different packages?

I'm using the RTF document generation features to generate Interface Control Documents (ICD) between components in a system. Each component has its own ICD. Each ICD is based on a seperate EA package.

I have a type used by multiple components, and would like to have it documented within each generated ICD. But I would sure hate to copy the same element to multiple packages. Would make maintennace diffecault, i.e. updates multiple places.
