delete from PIM does not delete from PSM
« on: February 01, 2006, 06:57:54 am »
Hi All,
(You can probably tell I'm busy with this tool at the moment!)

Here's my situation:

- I have a PIM, from which I generate a PSM.
- I update some element in the PIM, and transform the package:  The PSM updates also.
- If, however, I delete an element from the PIM and transform the package again, I find that the PSM is not updated with this change.  (probably cos the XRefs no longer are valid).

This is a pain, as I really do not want to spend any time in the PSM - I only want to work with the independent model, and regenerate as necessary.

I find that to get around this, I need to completely delete the PSM model and regenerate everything.  But this is also a pain because in doing this, I end up loosing information that I have set at a package level in the PSM (such as output directories for XSD files).

Is this a known issue?

Pete

This is probably intentional. If, however, you intend to propagate a PIM->PSM deletion you are encouraged to create an add-in that will do so.
