Author Topic: BPMN Add-in - can't invoke it (Read 3240 times)

I'm running EA enterprise, build 788. I installed the BPMN add-in. The help file says BPMN is accessed from the "Add-Ins" menu on the main menu bar.

I don't have this menu option!

I've searched all sub-menus, tried customizing the menus, tried other ways of invoking the MDG, no joy. I searched help and these forums. I verified that the dll is registered and the registry contains what it should.

What am I doing wrong?

You'll have to reset the main menu after you import the BPMN technology.

Use Tools / Customize...
Select the Menu tab
Click Reset

You'll lose any customizations of the menu or toolbars you've done, but can quickly get that back on track.

This forum is a real tool chest - and I think Sparx should put this as USP too. I cant recall any other tool with comparable activities.

I have to agree with Thomas.

I used EA for almost two years (evaluation, with clients, and my own) before I started paying real attention to this forum as a tool. While I'm comforable with EA, and quite solid with modelling, for both business and development, the time I've spent here has paid off handsomly, and continues to improve.

This forum is an excellent example of 'what goes around comes around.' In particular, the gems we all come up with regarding what we can do with EA (sometimes even beyond the design expectations) and how we can leverage its capabilities.

One last thing: one of my prime selection criteria (even before price) was the ability to (somehow) influence or otherwise participate in the product's evolution. This is not the first tool I've adopted for that reason, but it is certainly the best!

Thanks again for the help and advice.

The forum identifies me as an EA 'newbie' and that is correct. I'm comfortable with modeling but not the tool so I'm sure I'll be back!
