Checkout failed with CVS

Hi,
I'm a new user to EA and I try to set up control version with CVS.
I'm using EA 6.0 build 781 and CVSNT 2.5.02 as repository. I am able to check files in and out from WinCVS as a client so I think the repository
is set up correctly.
Using EA, when I try to add a package to version control all seems to be well. However, when I attempt to check the package out of CVS I get a "checkout Failed". "Check In" and "Undo Checkout" cannot be selected (grey). I cannot remove package from version control becose the packages need to be checked in.
