Is "Copy diagram to clipboard" working?

hi,

i tried this function but does not seem to be able to paste into word document.

I right-click a diagram, then select "Copy Diagram to Clipboard", then paste into word, but doesn't work.

I am using version 6.1.789

Did I miss anything?

try menu Diagram > Save Image to Clipboard instead.

Perhaps  this will help.

Since I use this feature often - and like to use the hot keys - I immediatly tried to do this with build 789 and Word 2000. Worked perfectly with ctrl-B (in EA) and ctrl-v (in Word).

Check your clipboard format setting on the Tools / Options main dialog. I always set mine to metafile, and seem to remember back in the 4.0 days that this helped with occasional problems doing cut and paste (but don't quite remember the details).

Another thing to check is EA's diagram size limit - you'll find this on the Tools / Options Diagrams pane. If a diagram exceeds this size EA simply doesn't copy it to the clipboard; no alert or error message is issues, since EA thinks it is simply following directions by not copying diagrams that exceed this limit. Consider that EA uses 24-bit RGB and think about the size of a bitmap (for example) that spans a couple or so pages at 96 or 120 bpi. You get my point. I usually set the limit at 96 MB, but for complex diagrams EA occasionally sends nothing, even in metafiles. [This can provide some preplexing moments when debugging cut and paste through the automation API, for those who try it.]

If the problem survives the above settings, please let us all know, and also post a bug report (via EA's Help / Online Resources / Bug Report Page since you'll have EA open).
