Problems by interting use-case-data ...
« on: April 11, 2006, 05:45:11 am »
Hello

Some days ago I have done my first steps in uml AND ea. My first question - a mail to the us-page - contains the question for an example project - let us say a "hello world"-project in uml.

The first hint was to read "Use case driven Object Modelling with UML" bis Doug Rosenberg. I think that this was a very good hint. But now I have a small example project with some use cases.

Each use case now contains a set of some sentences for the normal use case and a set of some sentences for the exeption in such a use case.

My question is: Where can I put thoose data?

Thanks for any help?

Best regards
Wolfgang Uhr

Ps: Sorry, I have seen that my username is written in uppercase letters. I will try to change it.

You may be talking about Basic and Alternate scenario flows. I am sure it is in that Rosenberg.

Hello

Yes, that is but my Question is. Where is the position to store that data into ea?

Best regards

There's an ICONIX tutorial available on CD which explains the steps quite concious. It helped me a lot when I started with EA.

Wolfgang, what you are refering to as Normal & Exception uses are called Use Case scenarios in EA.

To do this from within EA, open the properties window of a Use case and select the "Scenario" tab.

Refer "Scenarios" in the EA help file for more details on how to enter scenario text.  You can also extend the scenario types from the "Settings > General Types > Scenarios" menu option.

Check here Wolfgang:

This links to their purchase page, and also has links to books on the subject.

Thank you very much. But it may be a good hint for sparxsystems to think about the name of the cd.

EA for power users means to me: That is a CD for someone who has an EA experience of one year or more and who wants to get a finally handling optimization in the EA usage.

Thank you very much for that correction.
