Want to bring 'objects' from project a to b
« on: April 20, 2006, 10:26:05 am »
I have a project 'a' that manages an existing application.
I have project 'b' that is going to manage the 'future state' vision for that application.  I created a 'conceptual' activity diagram in project 'a' - high level - that has activities, data stores, events, etc.
My Question - is there a way to 'import' (copy) the conceptual objects from the project 'a' activity diagram into project 'b' ?  I don't want to have to retype everything.  I tried copy and paste and that doesn't work.   I don't want the existing app 'a' and new architecture for app 'b'  in the same project.
thanks, kathy

Hi Kathy,

Export to XMI and import into the new project. You'll have to decide whether to strip GUIDs or keep the originals (there's more on this in the user guide).

Remember that XMI operates at the package level, or the entire model if you prefer. It copies the package tree.

No, you can't have it!
