« on: May 17, 2006, 05:05:44 am »
How does one "dock" as BPMN swimlane into a BPMN pool?

TIA,
Paolo

Hi Ash,
Will it be?

I think it's necessary.

What about the related feature that some shapes (like Group) are able to move other shapes when they move.?

Should have anticipated that :).

I do agree with you, it's a feature that we are planning to add (I can't commit any further at this stage).

It's not obvious: Z-order is the determining factor whether a diagram object is moved with it's containing object.  Containers are always below their contents.

Please notify support if you are finding otherwise.

Ash :)

Ah.. the Old Z-order problem...  My test diagram had the Lane below the Pool - so no contained movement.  Send the Pool to the back and all is fine. :-[

However, it does seem to me that if I move an object over a container (ie Drop it onto the container), then I'm implicitly sending the container to the bottom; don't you think?

However, as you indicated, this functionality is NOT the same as formal Docking - which I'll await eagerly...
