Connector - Delete Key options
« on: May 28, 2006, 11:42:27 pm »
For reasons that may be related to EA's unique user interface...   ::)  when I attempted to delete a connector using the Delete key, I was suddenly presented with a dialog box that asked if I wanted to:
1) Hide the connector
   or
2) Delete the connector

It also had a subsidiary checkbox: [] Don't ask again.

If I had chosen Hide and Don't ask again, I assume that the Delete key would now be bound to Hide the connector.  If that's the case, what's the key combination to Delete the connector (regardless)?

TIA,
Paolo

If you check the option "Tools | Options| Diagram | Prompt on connector deletes" you will be offered the dialog again next time you hit the delete key.

And I've just realized that I'm answering the wrong question... the answer to your question is Ctrl+Delete. :)

Thanks for that Neil,

Now, is there a universal Hide the Connector key combination?

In the Keyboard Map, there's a section for Element (shape) but there isn't one for Connector...

Don't remember touching that...

But, I've now found it and it was on...

It's on by default. Once you answer above dialog with "don't ask" it is turned off.

I recently, uninstalled EA from the system and re-installed.  That must have been what turned it on...

Can this be fixed?
