RTF Documentation-incomplete diagram and no notes?
« on: May 30, 2006, 03:57:59 am »
Hi,
I have just registered with this forum and still fairly new to EA.
I have encountered a problem with auto generation of an rtf document and I would appreciate some help. I've done a quick search of previous postings and didn't find anything relevent. So I apologise in advance if I am repeating a previous discussion.

My problem is, that when I generate an RTF document of my activity diagram, I find that the output only has the 1st page of my diagram (which occupies 2 A4 pages). Also, my diagram notes are not reproduced in the document, even though there is a (empty) column for them.
I am using v5.0 and I also tried v6.1-trial. The template was set to basic.

Can anyone please suggest how to fix this?

thanks,
Tony

Do you mean, that the note that you have linked to the diagram note, produces an empty rectangle in the diagrams image in your rtf report? This is a known bug and will be fixed in one of the future builds (though I don't know when).

Steve,
Thanks for the reply.
My concern was with diagram notes, but I thought that as I had made the effort to include these in my input diagram (to explain flow etc), then the document generation tool would naturally assume this to be credible information to be transcribed in the output document. But it doesn't.

Either I am doing something wrong in choosing a basic template etc, or the document generator is being equally stupid.

This is Yet Another example of why we need to get Sparx to publish a list of known bugs and issues, and what if any workarounds are available.
No, you can't have it!
