Problems with Package Controll - Get All Latest
« on: June 02, 2006, 08:44:41 am »
Using:
EA 6.1.789
CVS
Shared Packages deployment, i.e. local eap and model sharing through CVS and controlled pacakges.

The integration with CVS is failing. It seems that the first thing Get All Latest does is call the cvs client to synchronise/update with the repository and this hangs.

We have tried using several different CVS client and always the same problem.

There is nothing wrong with the CVS client itself and it is possible to use the client standalone to do updates. Also when doing a Get Latest on and individual package EA successfully updates that package, through CVS, it is only when doing get All Latest that the EA/cvs link hangs.

Has anyone else experienced this and and know how to resolve it?

Regards,

Tim Tennant

Hello Tim,

We use the same functionality "get all latest" and it works fine. Only It takes some time depending on the network speed or size of the version controlled packages.

Either wait for some time and allow the operation to complete or break your version controlled packages into smaller ones and try out.

Let me know if that works!
