Copying diagrams with out frames
« on: June 06, 2006, 06:19:28 pm »
I'm writing a MS Word document and I'm trying to include UML diagrams by copy & pasting them from EA.  However, I keep getting the diagram frame along with the diagram elements.

Is there an easy way to get just the elements without degrading the quality of the diagram or jumping through a bunch of hoops?

I would really hate to go back to VISIO.   :-/

Jim,

Quick forum search reveals...

EA can be fairly stubborn about how it handles diagram exports, particularly with the clipboard. Check the Tools / Options / diagrams dialog, and experiment with the diagram frames settings on the lower right.
Unchecking the clipboard option seems to work...

Sorry about not answering Jim, and thanks Paolo.

I read through the posts here and answered another, but Paolo beat me to this one (no surprise there).

He's right, that seems to be the solution. I used to do this through the automation interface. My best guess (it was a while ago) is that EA remembers the settings you've last done by hand, but don't hold me to that.

No, you can't have it!

Don't kknow how I missed that when I was searching for such an option.

Thanks,
Jim
