XMI 2.0 ... its time ;D
« on: August 18, 2006, 10:55:19 am »
Holla Mr. Sparks!

I'm and old time user of EA. And I also used MagicDraw in earlyer dates. I personally don't really like MD, its to buggy, to hard to work with and to hard to configure.

Prolem: my customers use it.
To convince them to use it we need to import MD model files via XMI 2.0 or Eclipse EMF UML2 into EA.

So please: work on an XMI 2.0 import for EA!!

Regards,

The EA 6.5 beta has been out for about 2 weeks now. XMI 2.0 & 2.1 are part of the new feature package.

My personal expectation is that by build 800 or so (beta 1 is build 795) we should see the production version. Stay tuned to this channel.
No, you can't have it!

GREAT!

However I figured that oAW is ready to use EA XMI 1.x output, yippie!

So its not that important, OTOH I would love to import the MagicDraw model into EA, now I'm copying MD diagrams per hand into EA, which is a pain, see my other post about component models and "using" of interfaces.
