MVP and Databinding

Hi:

My question is to do with the Model View Presenter pattern and DataBinding. In the last couple of years I have been trying to implant design patterns in my programs. One of the most talked about patterns is the MVP pattern which abstracts the data from the presentation of the same.

I can see the advantage of detaching the data layer and business logic from the actual UI front end, but where does DataBinding of something like a TDBGrid come into the picture?

AFAICS there is a clash of interests here. What am I missing?
