enterprise and project level glossaries
« on: September 14, 2006, 03:12:26 pm »
i'm just starting to explore the trial version, and am curious whether the glossary can have project level as well as an enterprise glossary.  some terms will just not be of interest across the enterprise.  any thoughts?  also, can the categories of glossary (business and technical) be expanded to include others?

Pam,

The glossary is project level. The reason you often see the same entries is that the glossary from the base project is copied into any new project you create. If you clear the glossary from the base project then you will have an empty glossary each time you start a project.

I have been thinking about asking Sparx to expand these as well, but was not sure if there was any interest. You've posted the question before I got around to asking, providing the answer.

I have sent the following feature request to Sparx:

Please consider allowing additional types for glossary entries, beyond the hard wired "business" and "technical" types.

Perhaps as a short term measure you could allow additional types under the Settings menu, while retaining the business and technical filter radio buttons on the glossary dialog, but allow sorting on type and meaning of terms.

No, you can't have it!

Hm, wasn't there the all-over query for RFT in glossaries and elsewhere. Also a possibility to highlight/link glossary terms in texts.
