dragging and dropping classes as links
« on: September 27, 2006, 06:58:41 am »
 ???
Hi,...I'm working with EA 6.1- 798, and I found this problem.
I want to drag and drop classes from a package to  another diagram, and keep the relationship with their names, multiplicity and direction, but when I do this I lose the arrow that indicates the direction, and if there's more than one relationship between the two classes, when I drag and drop it only maintains one of relationship, the others are lost.
Why is this happening?

Someone could help me pleaseeee!!!
thanks!

The relationships probably still exist - in the repository. Just make them visible.

Hi,  I found how to show all the relationships.
Now in the same situation in the original diagram the name of the relationship has a direction, but when I drag and drop these classes are pasted as links, the indicator of the direction in the name is lost.

thanks!

The direction (by label) is probably a display option. Can someone from sparx say more?

If you enter a Link Name for an association and then right-click the Link Name label on the diagram, you can set a direction indicator for the label. This indicator doesn't appear to be propagated when the association is shown on a different diagram. I don't know if this is intentional or an oversight.

Neil,

From first principles, it's an oversight.  If the name is propagated, the direction indicator must also be.

That was the whole point of the indicator.  To provide name direction.
