How to model organization structure?
« on: September 29, 2006, 12:36:49 am »
Hi,

I am interested in both UML and non-UML ways of modelling of an organizational hierarchy/structure. What are best practices you use?
My goal is to depict superiority in my diagram.

Bary,

I'd use Instances (of the appropriate Classifier - OrganisationalUnit / Worker  etc) and appropriately named/stereotyped Associations in tree style.

Thank you Paolo.
That is what I usually do in 6.5. This is the non- UML, associations cannot be treestyle.
Can anyone help with good-looking UML compliant diagram?

Why not?  So long as they all have the same multiplicity, it's just a specific rendering...

Can you point to a reference that disallows this?
