You may prioritize your elements or make packages Release 1, Release 2,...

What about to make a special element "Release No x" and link (or crossreference) it with features that are planned for this release?

I'm not using this schema. It's only a thought.

Thanks for the answers. Creating a package will probably help in wrapping the requirements together. Another feature I don't know if it is available is that after creating the packages I would like to see what work needs to be done to implement this particular release. Do you have any ideas how I can link the requirements to the use-cases and classes with the attached time for implementation?

Thank you,
Tobias

You may attach Reqs to elements simply by drag in Project Browser and drop onto an element in a diagram.

You could use Phase and Version defined in all element's properties. Alternatively/also you could make use of Tags.

Thank you very mouch for your replys.

I have releases with the selected requirements in it.
For each requirement I have usecases or classes realizing it.
For each realization I can have an estimation or an effort attached to it.

Have I understodt this structure correct?

If yes is there a way to model the whole flow inside EA and to get the number of hours needed for a particular relase?

Thank you for any help.

regards,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,
check Project/Use Case Metrics. This lets you do calculations in the way you need it. I had a quite long discussion with Bruno Cossi some 2 years ago about metrics. Don't know whether you can reveal this using the seach (I have the impression, this does not work so well).

Hi,

Because of the lack of good searching in EA. I do many searchoperations direct with MS-Query:-)
I will check if the metrics will work for me. When I first looked at it I had the impression that they are quite complex to use.

Thanks,
Tobias

Regarding searching - have you tried Edit - Find in Project - Advanced - New Search - Query builder or SQL editor ?

Hello Peter,
Thank you very mouch for this. I even programmed queries in other programs to get the apropriate reports from the data.

It's a very nice feature.

Tobias
