How to display Packages in relationship matrix
« on: November 22, 2006, 02:14:19 am »
I want to display relations among activities and packages in relationship matrix. There is possibility to choose Package as source or taget type in matrix, but it won't display anything (of course there are some subpackages I want to display). What am I doing wrong? Any idea?

Can you tell us what you are missing? Of course it will only display the type of relations that you have chosen in the relevant packages...

You can choose two types of elements in relationship matrix (source, target). I want to display relations among acitivities (let say in rows) and packages (in columns) - we use a Trace dependency between selected activities and related packages. When I choose activities there is no problem, I can see all activities from selected package, But when I select Package (as a Type of target) there is none visible in relationship matrix though selected target package contains many subpackages.

Perhaps you need to look for containment relationships.

I'm guessing here. This might be off base, and might not be something you can set in the Matrix.
No, you can't have it!

I had no problem showing packages in the RM. I selected the top level package as source/target and saw both in row and column. What version of EA do you use?

Jan,

I can confirm Packages aren't showing in the Relationship Matrix on my copy of EA (6.5/800.).  Even if <All> is selected, packages don't show (although other things do).

Report a bug through the formal channels.  Let us know how Sparx respond.

I think this broke in 6.5.799... mine doesn't work in 800 (and I'm sure it used to) - and yes I am selecting <All> too.

Cheers,
David.

Thanks for reporting this bug.  I was just about to post this issue as well.  I hope they get this fixed soon, it's a real big issue for us.

If you were curious: I still use 797 where it works fine.
