Linking Existing Diagrams

Is there a way to link an existing diagram to new object or node that is created in a Activity Diagram.  Or do I need to create the object as composite, then copy and paste the existing diagram into the linked diagram.

You could drag the diagram from the Project View and create a note link between object and hyperlink.
