sskeys.dat corruption
« on: December 13, 2006, 11:56:05 am »
We a sskeys.dat file on a network share. It is becoming currupted at least once a week, such that users can no longer aquire/renew their keys. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this situation?

Thanks,

Scott

Our users have never had that issue.  Sounds like to me you may have underlying network problems?  Do you have any other corruption issues with files or your business applications across your network?

If not - what version of EA are you using?  Is there any pattern? (ie. is it the same user, time of day / week, are they a remote / WAN user)?  What are your keystore settings?

No we dont have any other issues with files getting corrupted. And there is no noticable pattern at this time. Since i dont really know what is going on with the file, or when iti s happening due to the fact the keys are good for 3 days. Therefore the file could get corrupted a day before we even know. That is part of the problem. Very few people are trying it over VPN so i dont think that is the problem

I am glad to hear you are not having any problems though.

No problem here also...

The file is not being moved right? Because I believe the file was encrypted when it is built to the location where is was built. Moving it would result in it NOT being able to be decrypted I believe?

Just saw a note in the release 802 build notes about fixing this issue caused by intermitent network outage?

Maybe this was the cause and 802 is the fix?

However, release 802 is not POSTED on the download page yet?!!

I picked it up several hours ago without problems. Try again now.
No, you can't have it!

Bioform,

If we have released a Build of EA and the download page appears to be old, you probably have a cached version of the page.

Use CTRL-F5 or SHIFT-F5 (I can never remember which) to refresh your version of the downloads page. It should then show the correct version numbers.

We are going to upgrade everyone to 802 and see if this improves the corruption problem.
