Bug/Feature in Sequence Diagram: Lifecycle->New
« on: January 03, 2007, 01:29:49 am »
I just moved to EA 6.5 (love the Pan & Zoom), and noticed the following behavior concerning Sequence diagrams and setting Lifecycle to "New":

 I have an existing object instance with many interactions already attached to it.  I introduced a new object, drew a line to the existing object, and in properties selected "New" from the Lifecycle pull-down.  This pops up an error message saying, "You can not set Lifecycle to New while there is a previous message of the same type".  First off, I don't have any other Lifecycle->New message on the object (did an old reference to a connector not get deleted or something)?

 Secondly,  I can get around this by manually typing "New" into the Lifecycle box, and EA then respects my request and draws the existing object shifted down on my sequence diagram in line with the New connector... which is what I wanted in the first place.

 Just wondering where the bug is.

Thanks!

Derek
