I was quite worried when I first saw it this morning but Ctrl+Refresh loaded all the new formatting information...

Well, as far as I can tell, the new site doesn't record read posts correctly...

Once you've read the mail, it stays with the (NEW) logo...  Even after [Ctrl+F5]

As we say in the Italian suburbs of Australia:

The incorrect setting of the Read status may be due to the server time changing periodically... I reset my time offset based on the Server time last night (my time) and this morning it's different...

I've now reset my times, but some posts are now Back to the Future.

Irritated...

Neil,
I'm using Safari on my Mac. It worked with the previous layout but now the layout is *obviously optimized* for this scrappy IE. Not happy with that.

Hi Thomas,

Admitedly the website was designed on a Windows machine, and was optimized to work in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer. However it was not tested in Safari and we are currently doing all we can to solve this issue.

In the mean time we would suggest using Firefox on the Mac as a temporary fix.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Paolo,

In regards to the server time you are entirely correct; however the necessary change to the forum configuration has been made so that your previous offset would be correct.

The heading area of the new layout consumes too much real estate in my browser (IE) window.  It needs vertical compression...

If we are going to get another version soon, can the glyph which denotes there are new posts in the forum be made more distinctive from the one that shows all posts read?

At higher screen densities or certain lighting conditions the current two aren't distinctive enough.

TIA,
Paolo

Yes, thanks Paolo. I too find it can be tiring. If only they could use a very different color, rather than simply intensifying the same one.

Thanks for the changes to the New/Read Post glyphs...

Works a treat...
Now that wasn't too hard was it?

Wow!  I really like the new layout for printing a thread!  It looks great!

Now, if I can get the text to wrap when I reduce the size of my IE/7 browser window I'll be a happy camper...

I'll take a moment to second Paolo's thanks on the glyphs. A simple change, but very effective.
