How start to work with AI?

Hi,
I would like to develope a plug-in for EA that facilitate an approach SW Product Line in the Requirements Model.
I need to add new attributes to the requirements and features (I think to use the Tagged Values) and some functions of manipulation of the data, where can I start?

What language can I use and how can I integrate my source with the Automation Interface?

And regard the tools, are you using Visual Studio or other suite?

I'm a beginner and every help is precious.

Did you look at the online help regarding Addins ?
I believe it is rather comprehensive iirc.
