Basic import
« on: February 06, 2007, 02:47:52 pm »
Hello-
My colleague has just provided a massive list of new requirements via MS Excel 2003. I am required to add these into our EA project, but it will take many hours. I see there is a CSV import option, but cannot seem to figure it out. Is there a specific format for the CSV? I've tried the run button and it simply says "Number of available fiels (3) is less than required specification (4)".

The details for each item are different, and not all items need details. So, if I have a list of 200 items, how can I import them as objects (more specifically changes)?

Thanks

Just a quick shot: AFAIK there is also a CSV export. Try looking at that format.

Yes, you need to define it yourself in an import specification.

I've tried the run button

The help button is probably more useful to begin with - it should give you a more detailed answer than you can get from the forum. Come back with any questions that the help doesn't answer.
