How to enumerate Actors of a Use Case in a Report?
« on: March 14, 2007, 09:52:35 am »
Hi there!

Can you give me a clue how to enumerate all Actors (but only the Actors!) of every Use Case in an (RTF-)Report?

I want to generate a "Alistar Cockburn"-like Use Case documents automatically. I don't want to edit the actor as text but use the existing "Association" in the Use Case Diagram.

So every Use Case should have a list of it's Actors (maybe a "Primary Actor"), additional information and the Scenario(s) of the Use Case ...

Thanks in advance, greetings
 markus

I have had VERY little luck using the RTF reports, and currently use MS Access/MS WORD to generate all documentation for my EA models... This is a VERY effective method that allows you to easily customize the documentation to your specific needs....

The only caveat I have is that you need to access the RDBMS tables of the project.... I currently run EA on my laptop, with my projects hosted on SQL Server 2005 Desktop edition...

If you want some specifics on the approach, let me know.

David,

I think a number of us would be interested in how your approach works.  Would it be possible to add it to the EA Wiki?  Preferably with a worked example? ;D

Thanx,
Paolo
