Problem with RTF report for Model Issues
« on: January 30, 2006, 06:34:45 am »
Hi,

I have problem with czech characters in RTF report for model issues. I use czech characters in the whole project and RTF documentaction which is generated through "advanced" RTF generators is ok.

But model issues report has czech characters in wrong encoding and MS Word or OpenOffice doesn't display them correctly.

I configure my RTF generator to work in "1029 Czech" language, codepage 852, charset 238 but it seems that this settings influence only RTF generator for documentation and not all the RTF outputs.

So the question. Is it possible to generate RTF report for model issues with correct czech characters?

I have EA 6.1.785.

Thanks

Murphy

Hi,
I had same problem months ago. Check when generating in Czech, that your Windows are switched into Czech as well.

Hi,

I didn't understand to "Windows switched into Czech". I have MS Windows XP Pro SP2 Czech version, so I think I can't switch them more to Czech.

I tried to change encoding in the Word or OO2 but I didn't figure it out  >:(

Which report did you generate? I can try the same and we will se if it works.

In the language bar nearby system tray is an icon which should be CS. EN causes troubles when generating into czech.
I reported in Basic / Use Case templates (original) and my templates. I was trying to figure out your problem with Model Issues and there was no problem with "háčky a čárky" letters nor with "Příliš žluťoučký kůň úpěl ďábelské ódy"

Well... tried... no effect. I have two keyboards in Win. EN and CS, I tried to generate the same model issues with EN and CS but the problem remains.  :-/

I fought with earlier version of EA with czech. And my solution was to use Unicode version with RTF generator I wrote in the first post.

So do you use same version of EA (6.1)? I was confused, because there is no longer unicode version so I suppose that  Sparx develop only unicode version now.

And problematic characters are ř, ě, ť, ň (r,e,t,n with breve).

Hm... unfortunately the same problem is with testing documentation where czech character are broken also.

Did anyone else encounter (even with other special characters) same problems? Did you solved it?

Thanks alot for any hint.

When generating RTF, in Language... (Customize RTF Language form) set Charset = 1 Default. It helped me a lot.

I've have tested with 791, and it appers to work for the characters quoted above.
For me, I had to set the following in Language Substitution.
Language --> "1029 Czech"
Codepage --> "852 Easter Europeam"
Charset    --> "238 East Europe"

Hope this Helps.  If you are still having problems,  Please send support an example that is not working.

Thanks for answer...

It helped a bit, but it is still not fully OK. The substituted letters are in different font than the rest of the text. I included example ( http://labts.troja.mff.cuni.cz/~danko2am/example/example.rtf ). Do you have any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with the CZECH RTF reports, I think it is a little bug, because:

I have set all parameters to required values (language = 1029 Czech, codepage = 852 Eastern Europe, 238 East Europe). There are 2 generators for RTF in EA. One of them "the great with filters" works well (special Czech characters are good). The second "little" generator with smaller form makes bad characters. You can switch between generators by button "Switch generator". The quick solution for you is not to use the "small" generator.

I think, when EA coders will compare this 2 generator codes, they will repair this bug.

hello. i'm suffering with these problems (generating czech language documentation) too.

my language settings are:

Language --> "1029 Czech"
Codepage --> "1050"
Charset  --> "238 East Europe"

however i've tried many different ones (including ansi, default, 852, ...) with no success.

my os is czech windows xp professional sp2, i've set czech locale and czech keyboard input.

now my findings:

new generator, basic template - ok
new generator, use cases (and other templates) - not ok

old generator, basic template - ok
old generator, use cases - ok

so it seems it's something with the new generator and/or the templates (as the basic template works). i wish i could change the template in external editor, that may help (i can't delete all the text in ea's internal editor, as it would give me "this selection contains protected text").

has anyone in here suffering from these problems found any solution?

also i have noticed that i can't set substitutions for all the english words used when generating documentation (like "Proposed" for example).
