Export to XMI
« on: April 23, 2007, 10:22:18 am »
Hi  All

Has any user had any success with exporting an EA project to XMI and then importing to a different UML tool?

I have numerous requests to import EA models into Borland Together 2006 R2 for Eclipse and nothing works.

I export using no diagrams, UML2.0(XMI 2.0) and no EA roundtrip and no EA tags.

Upon import into Together it simply fails mostly messages such as Type is not a valid classifier.

I have tried just using a simple use case with two actors and two use cases to try and narrow down the problem.

I have created the same model in Together and exported that to XMI (it does not import into EA!) and compared the "supposedly" standard XMI files. They differ in very many respects.

Any advice on the way forward, or is XMI not cracked up all ite is meant to be.

Models are great!
Correct models are even greater!
