Code Generation for Python
« on: June 28, 2007, 01:41:26 am »
I've been trialing EA for possible use with a Python project. Overall I like what I see, but I'm not certain yet how useful the code generation from class diagrams will be. I'd like to know if the following is possible in EA:

1. Automatically generate __init__ methods for classes, complete with a call to any base class __init__ method.

Thanks for your help.

I guess you need to modify the code gen templates for this. But someone with more Python background might know more.

Hi,

I have the same problem as toolmaker: I regard the syntax of code gen templates as rather complex. Are there any examples or syntac descriptions available, that help to build templates step by step ?

Regards
Bernd

Bernd,

Have you browsed the EA Wiki? You'll find directions to this in the top thread of the Automation and Scripting section of the forum. Read the first posting to the thread. The address of the EA User Group is in the post, and the address of the Wiki is at the bottom. The Wiki is the more active of the two these days.

I've not checked myself, since: I'm not sure exactly what you are seeking, and I'd like to introduce you to this resource.
