BUG: Note content for multiply attached edges
« on: August 21, 2007, 07:54:01 pm »
When you attach a Note to one or more edges, there is a <Context Menu>|Advanced>Link to Connector Tagged Values dialog available on the Note.  If more than one edge is attached to the Note, then the displayed tagged value can be somewhat arbitrary (it seems to be the lowest ranked attached edge in the <Context Menu>|Advanced>Set Attached Links... dialog).

Where more than one edge is connected, it should display either ALL the tagged values from ALL the attached edges (with appropriate separators - perhaps the same identifier as in the Set Attached Links... dialog) or NO tagged values with an appropriate indication (such as: <Multiple edges selected>)

In addition, the edge type (Association, Realization etc) displayed in the Note is also determined from the lowest ranked entry in the Set Attached Links... dialog - which needs to be fixed.

Thoughts? Votes?

In Germany we call the source of this disease Featuritis. Too many features creating too many inconsistencies and bugs. So definitely you are right (like always) and Sparx needs to fix that. Hopefully not introducing other bugs instead :-/

Once again I would like to vote for more effort on a consistent program rather than spending it on new features.

Sincerely,
The Caller In The Dessert.

The Caller In The Dessert.

Dessert: cake, pie, fruit, pudding, ice cream, etc., served as the final course of a meal  ;D

I think you meant to say:  "The voice in the wilderness..."

Ah! Thanks for that. If even native speakers can't spell correctly ;D

I striked out one 's' but you hardly can see it. A funny thought standing in a fruit bowl and shouting out loud. Reminds me one a saying about Marie Antoinette: If the people do not have bread they should eat cake (or des(s)ert) instead.

Seems only my mumbling is heard, not my shouting.

I was surprised to learn that it was not Marie Antoinette, but Rousseau, who said, 'Let them eat cake" ("Qu'ils mange la brioche", Confessions, Chapter 6)

Even so, brioche is more of a halfway house between cake and bread since it contains eggs, and so is not quite as ridiculous a statement as people like to make out.
