Custom icons on treeview
« on: April 23, 2008, 04:34:16 am »
Is there anyway  (esp. through MDG) to specify a custom icon for a diagram, or for that matter, any element in the project browser?

AFAIK no, and probably not through MDG either.

Once upon a time - when the EA SDK was in early beta - it seemed that Sparx was contemplating this feature. But that seems not to have been completed. It now appears that you can define custom icons for toolbox panes, but not for the project browser, model views, or task panes. Nor can you set the icon that will show up in a package when your custom element is contained therein.

I've asked, but the reply was that they had no (then) current plans to fill in these gaps, nor did they (at that time) contemplate changing this in future.

This is a real issue for us, since there is no workaround whatsoever.

As David said, what you want currently isn't possible.  The closest is the custom overlay for MDG add-in packages.

I would recommend sending in a feature request.
