Actionscript 3 support
« on: November 13, 2007, 04:40:56 am »
Does the latest version support AS3 or just AS2? If not, are there any plans to add support and when?

Thanks

Alen,

Take a look at the Tools | Options | Source Code Engineering | ActionScript dialog. Near the top of the list you'll find a Default Version setting. When you click the value you will see a drop-down which (in build 818, current at this time) allows you to select either 2.0 or 3.0.

Cheers Midnight, that's good news. Make sure you mention this in the docs on the front page and also in Google search. Actionscripters are struggling to get some decent tools.

Actually, it may be buried in the documentation someplace, though it might be somewhat oblique.

As to making amendments, or adjusting the Sparx site or Google hints, you'll have to make this suggestion to Sparx directly.

This is a user forum - though Sparx does actively participate - and like you I'm just a user.

It is in the Help, under Code Engineering | Code Engineering Settings | Language Options | Options - Actionscript. Also under the index entry ActionScript   Options.

As David suggests, the version information is a little oblique, so I have made it more specific in both the text and the index entry. This will wash through in the Help for Release 7.1.
Best Regards, Roy

Thanks a lot guys, I found that option. It seems that it works great for now.
