HTML Report URLs
« on: November 21, 2007, 04:21:12 am »
Hi,

We really like the HTML report and are planning to make significant use of this facility in our company. The ability to 'publish' a model to our intranet and then provide links to diagrams of interest which anyone can access is a very attractive one. However, unfortunately the URLs used within the HTML report appear to vary if the report is generated from different versions of the model. If new elements/diagrams/etc are added the URLs may change.

It would be nice if the URLs were more 'fixed' whereby URLs for same diagram or element in one version of the model was the same in another version of the model as this would reduce the chance of supplied links pointing to new URLs or even non-existent pages.

If this is not already possible (suspect not) then is it perhaps possible to achieve this using HTML report template or some other way ? If not then could this be a useful feature request ?

Thanks
  James

Just a thought... If URLs for HTML report pages were somehow based on GUID (or unique small portion of GUID to keep URLs short) rather than on what appears to be a sequenced number it would help make the URLs less likely to change with model revisions.
