Thanks. But I wouldn't blame Sparx for this. Out of the box the tool comes configured very basically - there's a lot more than just generics which don't code gen the way you might want.

I think their philosophy, which I agree with, is to just do the most basic code gen in a vanilla installation. The reasons probably are that one, they can't a-priori pick the best code gen that everybody will like and two, it's better for them to spend their time working on other features.

As you discovered it's quite easy to configure the tool to do what you want (once you learn how!)

I'm spending considerable time configuring the tool for use in my group, and am continually amazed at how much I can customize.

i can agree with you, but what i dont understand is why interfaces dont support generics. i think that this feature is no about code generation and template parameters in uml 2.1 are not only for classes (i suppose).
anyways i havent changed my favorite uml tool i just customized it litle it ;-)
