Obtaining license
« on: December 16, 2007, 03:56:45 am »
After trial period I decided to obtain license for Professional Edition of EA. Chose RegSoft as payment service and placed an order. 36 hours later, my order is still unprocessed. 12 hours after placing that order I've contacted them through email [email protected] to expedite the processing of my order, but there is still no reply from them.

How long did it take you to obtain the license and what is your experience with these two payment services, RegSoft and ShareIt?

I've used both - a few add-ons are only available from ShareIt - and had no problems.

Take a close look at your email, and make sure you don't have overly aggressive filtering turned on. You should have received your credentials in a message.

My most recent renewal went through in about an hour. Thinking back to last time (a year ago) I believe it was also about that fast.

I've thoroughly checked each email, ones marked as spam too, and there isn't any from RegSoft except first one that was sent upon placing the order. In that first email a link was sent where I can check status of my order, and that status hasn't changed since placing the order:
"Currently, the status of your order is Unprocessed. This means that your order has not yet been charged. To avoid duplication, please do not submit a new order. In order to expedite the processing of your order, please contact us here. When emailing, please include a brief request to have the order processed.". Just checked with the bank, there were no changes on my visa.

I've emailed RegSoft, but no response from them. Do they work on weekends? I expect services like their to work 24/7.

There are still 8 days of trial period available. Hopefully it will be enough until license is sent. If it doesn't come in next 24 hours, will cancel order on RegSoft and try ShareIt instead. Chose RegSoft as they were cheaper for same service, at least it seemed to be same then.

My best guess is that the order hasn't been processed yet.

Remember that if their business offices - or that of their credit card processor - are in the mid-west or eastern portion of North America, they may be suffering from storm damage. In the US there is a lot of chaos, and power is out for quite a large area. In some areas they've been predicting up to a week total power loss (since when it started), and another storm is moving through some of the same areas.

Try sending an email to their offices (any contact address) and see if you get an answer. Your order status check might be going through the same channel as the rest of the order processing system.

BTW, you can also send a message to Sparx sales (check the Sparx Web site) requesting an extension of your trial period. They will likely understand your angst.

Has anyone successfully purchased EA license in last two days, and if yes which of the two payment services did you use?
