Replication (any issues)
« on: November 18, 2007, 07:21:49 pm »
Hi,

We're about to investigate replication as a mechanism for synchronizing multiple access to a controlled package.

This would entail creating a model .EAP and then making it replicate itself across a network (two sites connected by VPN).  Only two (possibly three) designers would have access to that package and would need to coordinate access to avoid tripping each other up.

We've read the Help on this and it all seems doable - with some caveats.

Does anybody have any comments/experiences to share (positive or negative) regarding using MS-Access replication between two (or more) .EAP instances?

TIA,
Paolo

I remember someone posted a comment about basic flaws in MS' replication. It's quite some time ago and since then I moved to SQL server. Maybe you should google for it.

I can't help you with EAP based replication, but if you are planning SQL Server replication - there are still some flaws with EA that cause problems.
