Import DB clears Database field
« on: April 19, 2005, 07:55:20 am »
I am importing a Pervasive database.  First, I added Pervasive to the Database Datatypes dialog by clicking the Add Product button then adding data types.

If I try and import a table from a pervasive database all the column datatypes show up as varchar and the database attribute for the table is not set, it is empty.

So, I set all the imported tables database attribute to Pervasive and then did a re-import and chose Synchronize existing classes.  This has the effect of clearing the database attribute of the table and resetting any columns back to varchar.

Am I missing something or is there no way for EA to import Pervasive tables?

Also, would Sparx consider outsourcing implementation of this feature to me?

EA does not have support for importing schema from Pervasive,:(
which is why the datatypes are set to the default varchar.

I tried to import oracle (8i and 9i) schema and all the attributes are set to varchar.  Used Oracle ODBC Driver.

And if they do, could you please let me know?  I'm entering the schema for a large database at the moment, and it's a chore.
