Showing tags in Actions or Activities

Classes (obviously) depict their tags OK in EA if the option for the diagram is selected to allow for their display, but I cannot figure out how to display tags and tag values for Activities or Actions within an Activity Diagram.

Open the Tagged Values window. This window can be floating or docked, as you prefer. Be default it is not visible - I think this setting dates back to when tagged values were available from most Properties dialogs - so you need to use the control-shift-6 shortcut or from the main menu choose View | Tagged Values.

I believe you are referring to ability (or rather inability) of showing Activity tagged values on the diagrams itself.
If that's the case then, no you cannot see it by default. Only specific elements such as class can show additional compartments by default. However, if you change your activity in the diagram to use the rectangle notation (right-click the activity - Advanced -> Use Rectangle Notation) then tags will appear. I know it's not ideal but you can always have 2 diagrams - one pure with normal notation and no-tags and the other one with extra information such as tags but rectangle notation.

Or you may show the tagged values for any element as a note.

1. Add an empty note to your activity
2. Right click on the connector to the note
3. Pick Link this Note to an Element feature
4. Pick tags

Right you are. I haven't even thought of that and I've been using it myself.
