Use case Model
« on: January 31, 2008, 10:05:22 am »
Hi Guys, I have done a requirements model, with a number of functional requirements.

I have one Use Case.  This uses a Realization link to link with a set of Requirements.  Then these set of Requirements uses Aggregation Link for a set of further requirements.

The issue is that when I look into the link tab of this use case it only shows me links for the Realization, not for the Aggregation properties.

It will be much appreciated if you can advise how this problem can be resolved.

Many thanks
KS

Hey KS,

Perhaps you are using the wrong tool - a common thing with EA, given the size of the product and the EAUI (EA Unique Interface) - for what you want to know.

The Links tab is useful for the first 'hop' but not for more. In any case the properties dialog for Requirement elements doesn't have a Links tab at all.

Why not try the Hierarchy window? You can use the control-shift-6 shortcut or from the EA main menu choose View | Hierarchy. A word of warning though. In the case of requirements EA (quite reasonably) interprets the aggregation link to mean "is composed of." Thus, if you filter the Hierarchy view by link type you will need to choose Nesting to see the 'contained' requirements.

You might also want to open the Relationships window via control-shift-2 or View | More Windows | Relationships.

Finally, you can open the Element Browser with alt-9 or View | More Windows | Element Browser.

All of the above will work together, so you should be well covered.
